Among Greek Gods there’s the god of elation: Dionysus. Usually we think he’s god of wine but this is not true. In Bacchic rituals we can find the highest expression of enthusiasm, word meaning, from its Greek origin, god inside me. The Bacchante becomes, possessed by god, a perfect dancer, but how can she be possessed? Drinking wine. Wine is also, in Christian tradition, blood of Christ and is for this reason that Coptic art represents Jesus, engraved in the calyx, as Dionysus with huge eyes.
